AED access program

CPA (Cardiopulmonary Arrest), more commonly known as “sudden death”, is the leading cause of mortality in developed countries.
Making AEDs available for public access is an increasingly common strategy for improving survival rates, supported by medical authorities.

Since the May 2007 decree made the use of AEDs possible, they have become accessible in numerous private and public locations.

Apart from the provision of an AED, their deployment involves first aid training and consistent signage, plus an organisation suitable for the various types of location where they are installed.

The sum of these components constitutes the AED access programme.
